Take better care of yourself in 2013: Made to Crave

Like countless people, you may have made a New Year’s Resolution to take better care of your body in 2013 – AGAIN! For many of us that means two things: eat healthier and exercise more. But that resolution doesn’t have a very hopeful track record. Usually by Ground Hog’s Day the energy and resolve we felt on New Year’s Day has waned; our gym shoes end up gathering dust on our closet floor and our calorie counters sit neglected in the bottom of a drawer.
Christian author Lysa Terkeurst says that our problem isn’t that we don’t know “how to” lose weight. Those of us who struggle with this issue are experts in the “how to.” The problem is we lack the “want to”  – a “want to” that is deeper and more compelling than being slimmer and healthier. Even when we want to lose weight so badly that it moves us to tears, our “want to” gets overpowered by the next brownie or super-sized fries that crosses our path.
Made to Crave is a six week, video based course in which Lysa Terkeurst leads us on a journey toward finding that powerful “want to” – toward living out the truth that we are made to crave God, not food. If you feel stuck in a body that you know is less than God’s design for you, if you have found that your “want to” vanishes when the cost is just too high, if you long for a deeper, more vibrant relationship with God, join us for this class. We’ll meet in the Geneva Fellowship Room on Wednesday nights from 7 – 8:30 beginning on February 20. This class will take us through Lent. What a wonderful way to prepare to celebrate Easter!

Materials for the class include the book
Made to Crave: Satisfying your Deepest Desire with God, Not Foodand Made to Crave Participant’s Guide. The cost for both is $24. There is also an optional 60 day devotional guide available for an additional $13.
Stop by the display Gathering Space if you would like to review the materials. To learn more about Lysa Terkeurst, visit her web site at
